A message from Dee Dee
I confess that the idea for Dee Dee Buys grew out of my obsession for garage sales. I become almost giddy every Saturday morning when I get up early to go on my treasure hunts. Other than rain, the only thing that dampens my spirits is when I have no one to buy for.
After I had bought every product my new grandchild could possibly need, I began looking for bargains for friends who asked me to be on the lookout for certain items. But as I fulfilled their wish lists, I ran out of requests. One day I had to force myself to walk away from a darling pink bassinet because I didn’t know anyone who needed one. I decided right then and there that I either needed more friends with babies or I needed a resale business. And that is how Dee Dee Buys was born.
I love garage sales and I love babies. I love a bargain and I love to share a bargain. I have grown fond of the many young mothers I have met through a few local baby groups and they are my target audience. I could make a bigger profit by selling my finds on Craigslist, but that is not the type of business I want. I want to cater to friends and friends of friends in the Princeton area. I want a small business that builds a good reputation through word of mouth and helps young families to have the products they want at affordable prices.
And if I can make a modest income that supports my garage sale habit, then…well, it’s all good!
